The day normally starts off at around 11:00am. As you exit your car and walk towards the pavilion, the smell of juicy burgers and hot dogs (that are being grilled by our dedicated Chefs) is embedded into the pores of your nostrils. That’s only the beginning. As the wind blows in and out of the pavilion you hear all types of music from salsa to a little hip-hop for the youth, playing in the background. There are adults laughing and dancing, children running around and playing as the sunlight lights up their little faces. When 12:00pm rolls around, you hear the screeching sound of the P.E. whistle-let the games begin! All the kids, young and old gather to play different types of games, from football to dodge ball, and egg tosses to card games.
We eat, have fun and spend the whole day together basking in the sun. You may ask yourself, “What’s the point of the baptism? We gather as one BIG FAMILY in celebration of the new lives being dedicated to God and guided by God. These groups of people have decided to tell Jesus, “I want to show the WORLD my commitment to YOU!” Out with the old and in the new! Lives changed, forever!
“Before the baptism I can honestly say I was nervous, however after remembering that there is nothing to be afraid about, that God only has plans to prosper my future, the jitters went away. After getting baptized, I felt that my old nature, old ways, old lifestyle had finally been put aside. My new life in the power of the Holy Spirit has been greater than ever. By becoming baptized, I have publicly shown my commitment to Christ. I am sure now more than ever that God is always leading me to the right direction”. – Roxanna Cayasso
Roxanna is a vibrant young lady with a bright future ahead of her because she decided to make this commitment. Roxanna has very well expressed to us what the true meaning of getting baptized is.
Prior to any baptism, a six-day course is given to each person throughout a six-week period. They are taught the essentials of what it is to be a Christian, and how Christ wants us to live our lives here on Earth. They are taught how to live life happier and more abundantly through trials and circumstances of life. At the end of the course each person is individually given the option to get baptized. It’s completely voluntary. Each person that chooses to get baptized realizes that this day it’s one of the most significant days of his or her life (The beginning of a new forever).
So now we ask you:
Would you make the choice to make a change-for your life?
